Pickup Switching/push-pull with Everything Ace set

So I recently order an Everything Axe set for my strat. I planned on wiring it like this with a push-pull:

but then I saw this:

Now I'm a little confused. In the second one, the Duckbucker has all wires connected to something, while the JB jr. and Lil 59 do not. Why is this? Is the Duckbucker a single-coil, humbucker or something more like a Fender P-bass staggered pickup (it looks like that anyway)?

What I want to do is have the JB and 59 be able to be split and I'm not quite sure about the Duckbucker. What should I do?

yea, the duckbucker is like a p-bass pickup. if you split it, you'll only hear half your strings. all you can really do is hook up the lil' '59 and JB jr. to a split. well, i mean there's more you can do, but all you want is a split, right?:D

Yup, all I want is a split, no series/parallel. How would I go about hooking the JB and 59 to a split, or how would I take the Duckbucker out of the split shown here:

Edit:

Would adding the Duckbucker wiring (middle pickup) shown here:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=everythingaxe_1v_2t_5w

to this:

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=HSH_1v_1t_5w_pushpull

work?
