I'm thinking about removing the covers on my Pearly Gates humbucker set in my LP Standard. What width of pickup tape would I need to wrap around the coils?
jeremy LoveMachineologist Staff member May 13, 2025 #2 3/8" cloth tape is what i use to wrap the bobbins, 1/4" paper tape is what i use for just the coil.

S Sam SG New member May 14, 2025 #4 No expert but I've fixed a few hb pickup leads and rewrapped in the old electrical friction tape( like for knob and tube splices). Seemed to work.
