Pickup upgrade for D'Angelico Premier Bedford

So, I was poking around on the Facebook marketplace and snagged a D'Angelico Premier Bedford for $350. I love how this guitar feels and plays! the neck is great, has a nice feeling satin finish & the neck joint couture is just about perfect. There is binding around the fretboard which looks and feels great. The fretwork is really nice and I'm really enjoying the overall playability of this guitar, especially at this price point (I believe this guitar was $700 new). That being said, they definitely cheaped out on some of the hardware on the "Premier" models which is the more affordable line.

I've got some nice pots laying around I'm going to swap in. looking to swap pickups too, at least the bridge bucker. I have a strat pickup I may put in the neck unless I come up with a more sinister plan (Hot Rails? lol). Any recommendations? I'm mostly a Hard rock/blues guy but dabble in other genres (country, pop, R&B) so keeping some versatility would be nice.

John D'Angelico must be doing the :wrf:.

So put your Strat pickup in there if it's a real one and sounds good to you.

If I did that I wouldn't want too hot of a bridge humbucker.

My choice would be an Antiquity with the cover removed.

That'll also allow you to slide out the magnet and flip it to get the two pickups in phase if you need too.
