Pickup Wiring Problems

I made my own PU, and both coils were reading well on my multimeter, but when I assembled it and wired everything, it just said 1 on the multimeter on the 20k setting. I soldered the braided pushback wire and start lead from the screw side to the baseplate and I soldered the white finish leads together then I soldered the start lead from the slug side to the braided wire. I am thinking I didn't solder something well cause I'm not the best at soldering.
