Pickups and Water Slide Decals

This guitar I am working on is a bit of a theme guitar and I'm not liking the way the pickups look with it. If I put a water slide graphic over the top of it will I hurt them any or mess with the sound? Also will water slide stick to chrome? I am thinking about doing the tops of the knobs too.

Should stick fine. Won't affect sound (unless you get water in the pickup during application). Problem is it won't stay on. Waterslide decals require clear coat or they scratch right off. Clearcoat will not stick well to the pickup covers and may dull or yellow the covers.

So probably not a good idea.
