Welcome to the forum. :)

Do you want Clapton's current sound, or his sound with Derek and the Dominoes?

I'd recommend a Twangbanger bridge and SSL-1's for neck/middle. Make sure to get the middle reverse wound/reverse polarity. The Twangbanger will give you a slightly stronger bridge position.

Or, if you want to spend a little more for Duncan's best, the Antiquity Surfers w/Custom Surfer bridge. Just so you know, it's best not to mix Antiquity 1's with Antiquity II's.......or else you'll run into polarity problems, since they're opposite.

Re: pickups for a strat

I use Di Marzio HS-3 in the bridge and 2 YJM pickups for the middle and the neck position. Yea, I know here is duncan forum, but there's nothing to do.

+1, I have that setup in my Legacy and it's superb, will easily cover those Clapton tones.
Welcme to the forum.
