My Bassist has a bit of extra money laying around and wants to upgrade his bass. I love the way his Ibanez soundgear sounds and feels, very slim neck. I would describe his playing style as a jazzy and very groove oriented punk/metal sound. His low end is good but he desires more of that spring sound.
Can anybody recommend pickups that will provide more spring while still retaining that low end groove? The fretboard is rosewood and I'm think the body is agathis. All the newer Ibanez basses are agathis but this one is a few years old. Also which pickup should be replaced for best results: The P one (neck) or the Jazz (bridge)
Any help would be appreciated.
