Pickups for Jackson DK2M

I mostly play thrash metal (Testament, Kreator etc), some death metal (Death, Morbid Angel, etc), what is going to be a good bridge pickup to do the job?
The guitar came with a duncan JB, but its not tight enough and its a little too bright...
I tune down to D Standard. Suggestions dont have to be limited to duncans.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Re: Pickups for Jackson DK2M

I had Dimarzio Evolutions in a DXMG(nearly the same guitar but with rosewood board and emg hzs) and the bridge was killer for dropped thrash rhythm

I generally dont trust those pickup selector wizards they have on pickup websites but on the dimarzio one they had:
Evo, X2N, D Activator for what i specified my guitar as being, for what thats worth.
I dont want it to sound too bright but i dont want it to sound dark either.

Doesn`t your Ibanez RG570 with the D Sonic do the job? I`m guessing it should!

Re: Pickups for Jackson DK2M

Distortion. The bass feels tighter than on the JB, there's less of that mid hump, and overall it's pretty heavy sounding.

Otherwise I think you may like the Custom.

so its not going to sound too thin or bright? :earl:

Re: Pickups for Jackson DK2M

Depends on your ears. The DK2s aren't really thick sounding guitars in the first place. Versatile, good sounding, playable but they're not LPs.

The Distortion is good at thickening a tone, not so much the Custom. The Custom is pretty ballsy and has better definition and tighter lows though.

The Evo in alder won't be too bright. it's actually a way more balanced pup than people think.
