I just got a PRS SE Semi hollow and I want to change out the pickups (currently has EMGs). I was looking at several other threads about pickups for the Semi Hollow, but there was never any agreement. I mainly play clean to light distortion. Any ideas what would be a good set of pickups of this guitar?

Seth's & A2p's are both PAF style pickups right? I was leaning that way for a long while (with an occasional swing towards a JB, Jazz, or Pearly Gates). I tend to dislike overly bright bridge pickups and frequently find them to be narrow/compressed sounding. I guess in general I like more open pups. So based on what I'm hearing the Seth's would be more open/warm/smooth?

Looking further into the Seths & A2Ps I found I was really liking a lot of the tones coming from the Seths. However, they aren't wax potted, will that cause a problem with feedback? How do the '59s compare?

I have no idea why but all of the PRS SE models that I have ever tried seem to gel wonderfully with P90s and a 6L6 valve-powered amplifier set to be overdriven by playing dynamics.
The P-Rails Hot may not be to all tastes. There again, I tend to use the series mode sparingly.

In that case, buy pre-owned and be prepared to order four replacement bar magnets.
If you wait long enough, blueman, Kojak or GuitarDoc will explain which Alnico formulations for each pickup position and why.
