Pickups for tele custom

Hey guys,

I was looking at getting some new pickups for my telecaster custom squire. I think it has P90-2's on it at the moment, but I play a lot of alternative post-rock, sort of mid-heavy music.

Also I wasn't sure how easy it would be to install humbuckers into it, is it possible? I looking for a nice fat sound.

The last thing is, the bridge is getting old and I was looking to replace it soon, is it possible to change to a completely different style bridge?

Any suggestions? All opinions/thoughts welcome :)

Thanks, Cleverdan

I have humbucker's in mine. Duncan Custom Custom bridge and Jazz neck. They fit right in but I don't think they would with covers on them. Am in the process of replacing the HB's with P-rails to get the P-90 sound and keep the fat HB tones too.

I have a jb jazz set in mine. Fits ok, but you might have to shorten the hb height screws to fit correctly. Also have a brand new spare custom 1 (2hb) pickgaurd. as for the bridge, prob not without some modification. Also, I am about to replace the agaithis body with a mahogany one I got from warmoth. New bridge and pickgaurd also. Love that fat neck!

Okay, i'll look into it then. SO humbuckers are all good to go into it?

Thanks!
yes sir, and I might add, a welcome addition. look at guitar parts resource under tele/squier/pickgaurds. they have one for about 25 bucks or so. like, 6 bucks to ship. screws also line up close, but not absolutly perfect. good enough for me! (some screws are at a slight angle)

This is an awsome idea. after i get a tele neck from warmoth,(for the mahogany body) the squier will be rebuilt (with orig. neck) in this fashion. prob. with 4 push pulls to get all the options available. and the covers will fit I've tried a aph2 (nickle cover) in both slots, no issues (currently has uncovered jazz neck trem jb bridge)

Where is this sorry? Where do I look?

Man, a tele with a pair of P-Rails would be pretty awesome. If not, a pair of buckers with a 5 way switch to split them is so nice. I love mine. It'll do nearly anything I throw at it now.

I have tried pretty much all the options,in various teles, And my squier project will definatly be getting a pair of p-rails and 4 p/p's to explore all the tones that they offer. I think it will be perfect. Besides, if It doesnt sound good with agaithis, I can always order another warmoth body!
