My name is Rick. I have a tele I put a cool rails in the neck position and I love the sound, however the output is a whole lot more than the bridge pickup.Which ofthe upgrade pickups available would match output and still give me that tele sound? Is this even possible? Can anyone help me. Thanks Rick.

Re: pickups for tele

Now you need a hotter/better bridge pickup. A Hot Rails maybe? Lew

Re: pickups for tele

The Hotrails will get you there as far as output goes; but you won't get much of a twangy Tele tone. You could try a Hot Stack or you could try a Lil 59 for Tele bridge. The Lil 59 will give you more of a twangy PAF tone; but when split, it's much more Tele-like. Also, check out the Jerry Donahue Model. It's higher output but still has the vintage twang.

I would lower the neck pickup and put a Hot Stack in the lead position. The JD is very, very nice ( I have one), but the Stack might combine better with the CR as far as EQ voicing and output goes.

Re: pickups for tele

The custom shop makes a great pickup, the BG-1400. It has plenty of twang and glass, good output and it's stacked, which cancels the 60 cycle hum.
The hot rails is very hot in series, but it really sounds nice in parallel, keeping some nice twang but giving decent output.
The little 59 has less power than the hot rails. It sounds similar to a 59 in series (still a little twangy, but not as much as a regular tele pickup). In parallel, it sounds more like a tele bridge, but still not quite there.
The regular stack is pretty similar to a traditional tele pickup, but I don't think it will have the output you want.
The hot stack has more output and more midrange, but less twang.
