Pickups for winter project

I pickup a winter project that will need some pickups. It's a super strat made of Alder with maple cap, maple /rosewood neck, and FR. I am thinking of a Distortion in the bridge, but will need a neck pickup. The Distortion neck looks a little to hot me.
I am looking for the 80's sound and am open to suggestions.
PS this will be played though a tube amp.

Full Shred is great for 80's... well, shred, but on the neck pickup. It's very open and cutting, but not harsh. It's not stupid hot, but it's hot enough to kick a tube amp into gear and cut through a mix.
