Pickups with very different DC resistance.

Hey all,

So I recently came across a killer deal on a couple of pickups

Antiquity Texas Hot Bridge - 9.7k
Suhr V54 middle - 6.3k

The problem is I want to put a humber in the bridge of my strat, an SH-5 14.1k. My question is if I put the antiquity in the neck it will obviously be a hot strat but will I have issues with the middle pickup being so different from the bridge?

I'd love to just trade the antiquity for a neck pickup but I can't seem to find any takers.

Re: Pickups with very different DC resistance.

People within SD have propagated the Way they DCR is focused on way too much.

Look at it this way. There have been HSS models with a JB in the bridge and APS or SSL in the neck and middle. And that was not all that uncommon before the noiseless models came along.

You may or may not need to adjust the pup height to even out the volumes to your preference.

9.7k wound in the neck might not be "Straty", but it wouldn't be unlike an HSH super strat setup, so try it in the neck and see what you think before trading.

One of favorite mods is to have a global tone and a global treble pass knob, which is like the opposite of a regular tone knob. You send the signal through a .001 uF cap (where 100% of the signal is getting sent through the cap when the knob is at zero) and it generally makes hot pickups sound like cool ones. You can have your cake and eat it to. I do this to most of my high output guitars that have a knob to spare.
