Okay, it's been about two years in the making and you guys probably didn't care to begin with, but I've finally finished my franken-tele. Say hello (more likely "hell no!") to the absolute baddest Tele-clon on the block. It don't look pretty, but neither do you.

Okay, so here's the specs:
Formerly a 1980's Epiphone Tele.
Maple neck and fingerboard.
Medium jumbo frets
Plywood body
Weber Kettle Grill (had to cook it somehow!)
Propane torch
String thru. LOVE IT!
Fernandes Sustainer electronics
Bridge supplied by www.customshopparts.com

The Sustainer screams. This guitar is purely fun to play. Add some weird flange and delay with the sustainer and you can leave your bong at the door.

I like your "straplocks".

I just installed a set of those ealier today in my Screaming Daisy Franken-Strat.

That f*cker'll never fall off now. :headbang:

Nice work by the way.

You should beat it with a chain. It'll make it scream

I would have burnt your tele for only $50 dollars. If only you knew first.

Cooooll! Gives a new meaning to the term, "burning blues."

Re: *pics* At Last! It's Here! *pics*

Okay, I guess I'm getting old. That's pretty ugly, except for the bridge. I like the flames on it.

I guess the best thing is that you must have had a good time doing it. You can make up all sorts of stories about how you had to choose between saving your g/f or your guitar from a burning car and how you're really going to miss that girl. :)

Haha scott...I encourage you to re-read the original post...

"Say hello (more likely "hell no!") to the absolute baddest Tele-clone on the block. It don't look pretty, but neither do you."

It doesn't look good. Didn't look good before (scratched up gloss black...not my thing). After I gutted the body and determined it was plywood I just said "Well...it can't be that valuable." So I decided to burn it. I wasn't worried about preserving any certain aspect of aesthetic.

The main idea was to have a "show-off" guitar that I could whip out and people would say "Holy sh*t! What's that?!" and then prove it is actually playable. The Fernandes electronics sound pretty good, and that's what really counts for me.

And Zerb, I think it should be called the "Torch-o-caster"

And it's not for sale. Well, not for any sum any of you would be willing to pay for this piece of crap. Too much sentimental value.

It looks great, good job :) I love it when people just massacre their strats or tele's... it gives them so much mojo :D

Re: *pics* At Last! It's Here! *pics*

Do you get ash all over your clothes when you play? Does it smell like burning?

Re: *pics* At Last! It's Here! *pics*

I prefer the back to the front actually, but nevertheless, it's a very cool and different looking guitar! ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!
