Re: *PICS* My SCALLOPED guitar and ME!!!
Review:
This is a really nice playing Strat. With the DiMarzio pickups (yeah, I know, boo

) it totally roars. I can get classic single-coil sounds as well as cutting-edge humbucker doom with the coil tap. The scalloped neck feels a little different than a regular neck, but not by much. Took me about 5 mins to get used to, the difference is minute. Bends are quite insane now. It's the equivilent of having HUGE, TALL frets, with slightly more give on bends. Most of the facination with scalloped neck is hype, it's really almost the same as having tall frets
Still, I took full advantage of it. I put on heavier gauged strings than I'm used to because the increased ease of bending gives it a lower-tension feel. Now I can enjoy the sound of heavier strings with the playibilty of lighter strings. Very cool.
The sound is very classic. It's much like a throwback to the late 70's and early 80's sound. The HS-2 is really vintage sounding, which I LOVE. the Fast Track is like a Super Distortion, but smaller

So I get that buttrocker 80's metal tone in bridge and the clear chime of a classic Strat neck pup. The middle pup is pretty cool too, but I don't use middle position often. For these positions, I play Racer X, the very little Yngwie I know, A LOT of Satch, and Queen. It's sustain madness!
Now, TAP the coils and you got instant classic-rock, or for my purposes, Sahara Hotnights rock :13: Doubled up with some light gain and overdrives, you can get as spanky as you want. Great for those pop/rock riffs and chords. Solo work here is very much IN-YOUR-FACE with retro attitude. Cleans with this are almost acoustic. Very natural.
This guitar turns heads wherever I take it (people love the look!), and now that I've finally wired it up, it can rightfully do some sonic damage. Hope you guys dig the pics, this guitar is a pure Biu inspiration! :13:
