What caps, trannys and resistors is this guy using? They can't be anything too nice. A really nice plexi clone costs more than $400 in parts to build.

Actually, apparently this guy uses really nice stuff and charges basically nothing for putting everything together, he basically does it for fun...Another cost cutting factor is the super simple head boxes...

Cost me $600.

Hey, I say Kudos to the guy for doing what he is doing. He's using inexpensive parts (weber chinese trannies, radio shack resistors and the like, what tubes?) and he's getting tube tone in the hands of guys that would otherwise be buying pieces of crap from WalMart..er... Guitar Center.

I cant' tell if he's making the head enclosures and painting them or tolexing them. I stand by my oft-preached adage that you get what you pay for in this world. But in this case, if you've only got 400 bucks to spend, it appears he's filling a void out there. All power to him.

Yep, it has your name written on the inside left edge of the chassis. It mails out tomorrow. :burnout: (with Bias Test Points Installed!)


It turns out that I dripped solder on the back plate somehow. Marked it up a tiny bit, but it needed to be perfect when it shipped, so I had to have another back plate made.

or figure out a way to assemble without the faceplate on, the right b4 shipping attach it? works perfect everytime.

Except I hate to have to resolder the two fuse holders... maybe I need to swtich to a different style fuse holder?
