**PICTURE** of my JEM 7D

TwilightOdyssey

Darkness on the edge of Tone
This picture was taken last month at rehearsal just before the George Lynch gig in NYC ... :)
Rehearsal space is ULTRASOUND in NYC, Sudio A.
The amps behind me are a Marshall JCM800, A Bogner Ecstacy, a Mesa Dual Rectifier, and a Diesel VH-4, which is what I was playing through.
Not pictured are the Corford, Dr Z, VHT and several other heads on my side of the room.
The only other thing worth noting is the Mystery Science Theater 3000 decal on the pickguard of the guitar.

Very cool, Jem's are about the only Ibanez RG I like looks wise, and the 7 string one with the abalone triangle and the binding actually on the body, not just the neck... :32:

That's called the Universe ... it's the only 7 string I've played that I would buy.
The new Jem 7B is great, too. I don't like the 7V, because I hate white guitars.

Re: **PICTURE** of my JEM 7D

You gotta love that amp choice behind you! If you rehearse in an hourly with those amps, it'd spoil you for your own stuff. Do they have a whole pile of heads behind you? That would almost distract a person from playing their set. :rolleyes: :laugh2:

Yeah, the heads go thru a router which allows you to select what head and 4x12 you wanna use (Bogner and Diesel in that room).
That room definitely has got me into wanting a VH-4 in '05!!

Re: **PICTURE** of my JEM 7D

I want one of those pickguards for my black Strat, only in satin instead of mirror.

The Jem 7D has a great industrial look to it: philips screw heads for fret markers, the wrinkle finish, and the reflective pick guard all add up to very unique look!

Screw heads.......there's something I never thought of.....

I've been slowly replacing the pickguard and jack screws with the same allen key bolts you see in the four corners on the front of this amp;

Now, I just need that satin aluminum pickguard. :dance:

That's cool! :)

Here's a close up showing the screw head inlay and texture on the 7D ...

Ha, that's cool. In the picture it reminds me of the uneven surface of tar....can't get much more industrial that that.

I found this on the Ibanez Canada site;

Re: **PICTURE** of my JEM 7D

that is one gorgeous axe man..

Re: **PICTURE** of my JEM 7D

Dood, I hear ya. Check out my profile pic. One day of growth. I'm not Italian, but I think I must have some Mediterranean blood somewhere.

Oops, another hijacked thread. Back to your original program.

Re: **PICTURE** of my JEM 7D

Yeah those finishes are cool... I call it the Stucco Finish

The only thing I don't like about the Jems are the necks on them. I have small hands and those necks are just too wide and too thin for me.

Man, that is one pretty good selection of amps!! (I'm having a GAS atatck!).

Most places I have been to have Peavy SS amps, one had a Marshall JTM Type reissue thing, sounded quite sweet.

Guitar is cool too, I like the Universes too...

Re: **PICTURE** of my JEM 7D

Actually, the monkey grip is quite cool, Davey. It's perfectly placed, and aside from the obvious transportational advantage, it balances out the guitar in a wonderful way -- it feels like it's a part of your body!! :)
