Pictures without words

Re: Pictures without words

My "Fake E Lee" is done...

I sent it out to Marty Bell for paint, and the body came out great. However the headstock was not correct, and I had to send it back. Unfortunately it came back worse then how I sent it, and Marty told me to get bent. Needless to say I was pissed, and the parts just sat while I decided what I wanted to do.

So tonight I put it all together, jacked up paint and all.

Looks killer, man!

What pickups are in it?

Funny...I was looking into using Marty Bell for a paint job one time, because everyone told me he was THE MAN for metal flake paint jobs. But I got a real dick-head vibe from him in our conversation, so I decided not to. On the plus side, that's what led me to say screw it, I'm gonna learn to do this stuff myself, and I'm much better off for it in the end. I hope the headstock paint job is at least deal-with-able, because it's a slick guitar.

Re: Pictures without words

A good guy for metal flake is ROWYCO Kustoms

The pups are the JB based AH-1 and the singles are Duncan STKs. I think the bridge has an A2, but I don't remember how I ordered it.

All I know is it kills thru my '72 superlead. :D

All I can say is . . . wow!

Actually, I can also say, love the pickup config/slant. Very sweet.

Re: Pictures without words

Ok, some answers...

One piece USACG Swamp Ash body
Warmoth neck, ebony board, SS frets, compound radius.
Bullet truss nut added by me
Warmoth pickguard, but I had to cut the slanted singles.
Solid brass bridge
Regular ol' bright white.
:D :D :D

Re: Pictures without words

That AH-1 should be awesome in there. I have one in a poplar Blaze Model 1 and its a nice pickup.

Re: Pictures without words

Cool - man you must be going through the files with all the SS frets you've been dropping in!
