... A dangerous act I know... But hear me out...
Ok so I'm building a semi hollow guitar (still a long way to go) with a solid block underneath the pickups and bridge, but I have a spare acoustic piezo pickup with preamp lying around. The pickup is one of those saddle pickups. I'm wondering if I can fit the pickup into the wood because the bridge I'm using is a tune o matic....
If I drill a groove into the wood under the bridge and stick the pickup in there will it work? Will it give me an acoustic sound or will the sound be lost because of the thickness of the top wood (2cm)
Or will it not work because its not being directly vibrates on by the strings?
