Re: Piezo pickups

Are you talking for piezos for an acoustic blues and acoustic rock sounds? Piezos are designed for getting an acoustic sound out of an electric guitar. Some sound better than others. THe Graph Tech GHOST and RMC piezos sound better than the Fishmans, and all of them aren't cheap. Plan on at least $200 (sometimes as much as $600 depending on options) for the system alone, plus, plan on buying an acoustic or keyboard amp. You can't really send the piezo output through a regular guitar amp- it won't sound so good. You need a full range amp and speaker system.

well my guitar techer uses some kinda piezo, on his start that he uses thru a reg fender amp, and all it dose it make the tone alot fuller, like boosting the sting guage by 2 guages.

Pick up the world has a Peizo that you fit in between your strat bridge and just works from there.I think it comes with all you need but I don't think it's cheap. Never tried it but never heard anyone saying it sucks.

LR Baggs X-Bridge.

has the piezo elements built into the saddles, is a drop-in replacement for a standard 2-post Strat bridge and sounds great. Installation is so easy that I managed to do it without problems.

$115 here
