Pinch Harmonic Hotspots

Re: Pinch Harmonic Hotspots

they're everywhere, higher Gain setings and the brighter lively pickups really help, If yours are dead try raising the bridge pup way up,, like silly close, and set the amps gain up like Led Zeppy-ish, and add lots of treble -- floor the treble if you can get away with and still have some tone left..

There are some better places than others, but it depends on where you use your pick (closer to the bridge or closer to the neck). For different notes, you'll need to pick it at a certain place, which could be pretty far from where you normally pick. Some notes seem to have several places between the bridge and the neck, and it's fun to kind of hit them up or down in succession on one note.

I also like the trick where you pick a note around frets 5-8 and as you hold that note, gently use a finger of your pick hand to touch the string right above the metal fret 12 notes up (frets 17-20). Helps to do a little vibrato with the fretting finger. Works with two-finger power cords on two strings too.
