Pine late 40's/early 50's Fender Esquire

I have fallen in love with the Esquire on the cover of this month's Vintage Guitar. I am having total guitar lust over this instrument.

If you look at the other pic(s) in the article you'll see no walnut plug at the headstock which means it's either one of the odd ball blackguards that hit with a maple plug or it's a no rod guitar...being as old as it is I'm banking on no rod!

I bet it rings like a bell!

It is a no rod and it is chambered. I can only imagine what it sounds like.

Yeah, the chambered ones are VERY scarce!

I saw one like it at a guitar show in the 90's. It still had most of it's original finish but it was very brittle (the finish that is) so the seller wasn't letting folks play it unless they were a serious buyer.
