If you're looking for a great gift for the blues lover in your life, I have a Pinetop Perkins autograph up for auction on eBay. It's one of two autographs I got from the late Delta Bluesman in 2009 when I was driving a cab. It was amazing to talk to someone with so much history. This was a guy that had played with Muddy Waters, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Jimmy Rogers and Hubert Sumlin! He was also the guy having the argument with John Lee Hooker in the movie, The Blues Brothers. He was the oldest person to ever win a Grammy at age 97.
This is a Yellow Cab voucher autographed by Pinetop Perkins on 12-15-2009 in Austin, Texas. I picked up Mr. Perkins at Antone's on 5th and Lavaca and drove him to his residence on Dexter St. I asked for his autograph and he signed the back of the voucher that Susan Antone had given him for his ride home. It was signed using a Sharpie. The photo of Pinetop is one I shot with my iPhone 3G from a ride I gave him on 10-19-2009.
