played a PRS

It had a 59/09 covered pickup set and I really really dig them even for the heavier stuff I play.... they felt just right...

Out of curiosity, which Duncans could you say compare to these?

I would love to get a set or get a PRS, but that is a little out of my price range...

Could I get a similar feeling with a 59/Custom hybrid with a mag swap?

Re: played a PRS

Haven't played a PRS with one of those yet. I can't imagine they're TOO different from the old McCarty pickups which were like a darker or midrangey version of 59s to my ears.

I am not 100% on that haha, but I have a feeling I can maybe get the tone and feel of these with a mag swap and adjustment of the 59/hybrid I currently have.

Just don't know where to start....

I think a 59/Cust is going to sound quite a bit different because if memory serves the 59/09 is trying to recapture the sound of the brighter 1959 Alnico 5 PAFs.
