in stereo with a vibrolux deluxe and a deluxe reverb with a j mascis j-master.

and heres my take on it: holy crap.

the memory man is worth every penny and it will be the first thing that i buy after my laptop! jesus. i'm pretty sure the guys down at daves guitar shop were ready to murder me cuz i was playin it for 2 hours...or so

its so versatile...reverse delay. 1 second + reverse delay, multitap, tap feature, regular pong echo, stereo, mono

all those knobs tho....boy, they all do something use full...but what they do i'm still kind of befuzzled on. i get the idea but i'd love to spend some more time with the decay and filter knobs.

to sum it up....wow. worth the full 214 dollars. and i can guarantee that you almost never hear me say that about a pedal

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

oh and btw, i've decided that this is the best pedal i've ever played and possibly ever made. it can do a poop load of stuff, and that poop load of stuff is all done well

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

That's great! Usually when a pedal does a poop load of stuff some of it is good and the rest is poop.

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

i think one of the main things they did really well on this was the reverse delay + 1 second echo

it makes it much warmer, somewhat like an analog delay. it seems that the attack is not so strong and the end is warmer and more even. and it helps to adjust this with the decay, a nice feature.

honestly, just amazing

Ok, WHAT THE HELL IS HAZARAI!?!? Seriously. That term gets thrown in there by ehx like it's common knowledge or something. What is it? Some kind of little booklet of japanese woodcarvings and poetry designed to bring you to a greater oneness and understanding with 'The Delay'?

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

ya know, if i really knew what it was, i'd tell you. my best guess is that its a modeling system type dealio i guess. it changes the function of the delay pedal. it takes it from a slapback to an echo to a delay to a revese delay etc. taht's my best guess

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

I am disgusted and appalled at the lack of blasphemous content in this thread.

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

Nice.

I'm looking for a delay and I was 100% sure that I would go for a T-Rex Reptile but it's so expensive and it can only do 2 things. A friend of mine told me about the MM w/Hazarai 2 days ago that I have to check it out. I'm tempted to choose the MM one, less cash and more fun. I don't know how much "lusher" the T-Rex sounds but since I love to experiment with sounds I need some sick, funny effects, too.

But still, the T-Rex Reptile sounds very good.

honestly SS, go with the momery man w/ hazarai. there is one thing that i noticed about the warmth of dekays. if you adjust your tone control, that can effect the warmth of the delay. then you can adjust the overall EQ with the amp

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

one thing i noticed - the decay and filter knob's interaction with the repeat knob is very important.....VERY importan, VERY important.

I'm almost positive HAZARI is Japanese for "kitchen sink".

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

I think "HAZARI" is Yiddish for "all the good stuff" according to the manual. I've got one, its a great delay.

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

I got mine today...it's amazing! No change in tone, very nice quality of the effects. The pedal looks a but cheap but I think it will survive some "gigs" years. I love it.

Re: played a stereo memory man deluxe w/ hazarai

it has a buffer, just so it keeps your setting of delay but i must say that the buffer is colorless
