Please compare Seth's v. Antiquites

I have a Hamer Artist and I am not liking the 59's in it. They just sound ok. I am looking for something special for this guitar. I have two other guitars with Antiquity Humbuckers and I like them very much (especially in the neck posistion). However, several people have told me Seth Lover's are the way to go in this particular guitar. Do any of you out there have experience with both the Seth's and the Antiquities? If so, please compare them.

For the record, I play blues and jazz. Plug straight into the amp or use an outboard fender Reverb unit. I am into Muddy Waters, BB King sort of stuff no modern overdriven blues ala Stevie Ray Vaughan et al.

given that you don't play with alot of gain, i think that you'd be fine with an unpotted pickup in that guitar ... so the Seth's would be worth a shot ... with A2s, they might be just the ticket ... any chance that you could pop your Ants in it to see if you like em? ...

have you considered the alnico II pros? ..

I always look at it like this...an Antiquity sounds like what a late 50's PAF would sound like today, the Seth sounds like a late 50's PAF would have sounded like in the late 50's!

yup both a great sounding pups the ants are a little sweeter, the seths bark a little. hard to go wrong with either both have very rich vintage tone just a little different flavor, ive played a few hamers with seths and they always sounded great. if you already have some antiquitys and like em, try something new

If you like the tone, but want a bit more beef out of the bridge, just swap the 59B for a Custom 5, for one of the better Duncan sets. If you want to go a shade warmer, consider the Custom Custom/Seth Lover neck combo......both those kick ass in my opinion. The first set is more articulate and tighter, but the second set has a lot of lower midrange warmth and sweetness! Definitely my two favorite humbucker combos.
