Please give me your opinions: Middle Eastern Rock

Hi all
My band were recently in the studio and recorded a new song with a completely different direction. Its called Kngs, and its a kind of cross of heavy rock and middle-eastern music. The first part of the song is a turkish instrument called a saz along with arabic percussion, and after a minute or so it goes into a full-on rock thing.
The guitar sound is an Ernie Ball Axis Sport with Seymour Duncan EVH 78 pickup though a Marshall Jubilee Combo.

Anyway, here is the link. And i would genuinely value any opinions on whether this works as a song.

Thanks all

I listen to a lot of trance music and I love the songs with a middle-eastern feel. I dig the acoustic intro. I think it gets a little too busy when the distortion kicks. The guitar riff sort of clashes with the vocal melody. I think if you simplify the music under the vocals and give it some room to breathe it should turn out good. JMHO. :)

loving the intro!

like it a lot. the percussions fit the bill perfectly and the saz isnt overly cheesy like some can make it to be.

the main melody is very turkish sounding. actualy reminds me of a song, got it on the tip of my tongue, but wont remember right now.

anyway.
it ROCKS. seriously. i like it a lot.
if it works as a song? very much so!

very cool. vocals need to be louder. Drums are good.

Good feel/groove

I liked it alot and i want to have it!!!
Saz means in Turkish "instrument" and the real name for that instrument is "baglama":).Anyways ,it would be more "real" if you have more tracks for the percussion in the intro. It is more common in eastern music to play the rythm in 4-5 men groups. And the best PU for the "baglama" is the X2N ,and the dimebucker :).Cheers man nice work!!!And a great feeling.
ps:do you like "the tea party"?

More drum tracks, I'd say... not sounding big enough.

Not digging the solo tone, but the overall song kicks ass!

I agree with DSS. Nice job! It's definitely different and really good.

That is a very cool and extremely original tune. I would love to hear a bit more of Zepp's Kashmir vibe, in terms of production. Bigger sound, reverb, ect, a bit more 'mystery and magic' in the production.... In some regards it reminds me of Jeff Buckley.

Very cool!! I have listened a couple times. Band sounds really tight.

Nice change of pace. Have any of your guyz in the band ever check out artist like Alice Coltrane, Shakti or Pharoah Sanders. Also check out Mahavisnu Orchestra's Visions From the Emerald Beyond. I suspect that you have but I thought I mention them just in case. World music is great!

Hi all. Thanks very much indeed for your comments. Its so hard to be critical of your own songs, especially when you listened to them so many times while you were in the studio recording them, and then so many more at home in the following weeks.
And if anyone else has any feedback then please feel free. It all helps.
