Hey everyone :) So amps are pretty foreign to me, and I found a sound I like with this amp I LOVE for a les paulish sound with my strat! But i'm getting some crazy humming the gain control is most effected when I turn it up/down but when I turn it down it changes the sound :/ I couldnt begin to know how to find out why this is happening nor to fix it, any ideas please?

Really hard to do when we have no idea what the set up is... Could be anything... how about a few details about whats in the set up and how you have it dialed... This is the same as going to the doctor and saying "I'm sick whats wrong"

How are you powering said pedals? Any Fluorescent Fixtures nearby?

Daisy chains and Certain Fluorescent fixtures can be problematic. Just a wild guess...

But please detailed info about the setup.

llol holy crap remind me never to do that again dogpile the newb?? sheesh ....AHEM ;) anyways so yeah it's a vox ad15vt with my BOSS distortion pedal, just a plainjane but I know it's not the guitar .because it does it with all of them. I bypass all the effects, trb/mid/bass all set to 1/2 way it has 2 channel (I dont know what these are?)they do change the sound considerably..and the modeler is set to the voxac30 setting and i get feedback and i get an annoying hum! ugh..

PS. lmao @ trevorus

Re: Please help! i'm getting alot of noise from this setup

Modelling amps are not very good with pedals in general (to my experience).
Using a distortion setting in a modelling amp with added distortion from a pedal can do that (feedback).

Make sure the "level" of your BOSS is set low. Set it too high and it starts to feedback.
Also, adding more "distortion" from the pedal will make it sound muddy.

If you want to use the "distortion" sound of the pedal, make sure you select a clean/undistorted setting on the modelling amp.

Re: Please help! i'm getting alot of noise from this setup

...and you're using a Strat... If its got singles, its susceptible to picking up hum.

Keep the gain as low as you can use. Orient the guitar in a direction where it picks up less hum. Try using a battery in the pedal if you are using a supply.

But gain into something gain - recipe for noise.

What are you using for cords? I also must ask, are you making the classic mistake of using a speaker cable for a guitar cord?
