PLEASE HELP SIMPLE 3 PUP LES PAUL QUESTION

I don't know why I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere, but here it goes:

I want to wire my 3 pup Les Paul so it does this:

Neck Position Switch = Neck Pickup

Middle Position Switch = Middle Pickup

Bridge Position Switch = Bridge Pickup

I thought it would be simple enough! I guess not! Please help me!

As far as knobs? 3 volumes 1 tone would work.

Oh btw... the guitar came with Super distortions sounded horrible. Way too brittle, the ebony fretboard makes it too trebly me thinks. I have a Dimarzio PAF PRO wire braid 2 conductor in the neck, and two Ibanez Super 70s in Mid and Bridge to smooth out, they are 2 conductors too.

Your stock 3 way switch will not do what you want. You'll need a DPDT (on/on/on) toggle.
Yes, you can have three vol pots (one for each pup) and one master tone pot.

Dig the Super70's - although aren't they SuperD clones sort of?

Anyway - yep - you need a different switch.

What he said.. Electrically this is not feasible with a stock 3 way.

Been wanting to do a three pickup les paul project. Want a 6 way switch for all pickup combos minus all three.

Awesome axe!!! Yeah, as stated above. I had a black Epi Ace Frehley and tried to do the same and couldnt. Im suprised you found the Super D's brittle.. I changed the neck one to a paf pro cuz the Super D was too much there. I never shoulda sold that one..

id recomment a freeway switch or a DPDT switch to do what you want.. .. a freeway switch is alot more versatile than a DPDT.. i have never used a freeway as i have no guitar that would benefit from it..but ive heard good things about them

or id use the stock toggle for the neck/bridge and have one of the pots as a on/off for the middle.. to use just a single pup at one time drastically limits the tonal possibilities i would think
