I have a Ibanez RG 470 and I have a SD Invader HB PU I want to place in the bridge position, I have looked on the site for a wiring diagram for the Ibanez and to no end I havent found one, The existing PU is a Ibanez V8 and It has 2 wires and a ground to the volume pot.(Red and White going to the selector). And the Invader has a Black, White, Red, and Green with a ground. I have included the diagram link below, please help me with this diagram and tell me which wires go where. My understanding is that the Green and ground go together on the volume pot and the Red and White together on their on. Does the Black wire go where the Red of the V8 go on the selector???

My guitar is a 2000 RG470

Thanks for your help, dozer

Re: Please Help.. (wiring for Ibanez RG470)

Put the Black wire from the invader where the red from the V8 goes.
Green and ground go to the volume pot.
Red and white are twisted together, and go where the white wire was on the selector.

Do a tap test with the screwdriver (guitar plugged in to amp) with the selector in full bridge humbucker mode. Should get sound on both coils.
If sound comes from only one coil, swap the selector positions of the black, and red/white wires. This is NOT likely.

That should get you proper full humbucking operation. Phase could still be an issue, if the guitar sounds weak or strange in the split bridge + middle position. If so, just swap the green and black wires. But you might like the out-of-phase sound.

Good luck.

Thanks Bighead, after further research and trial and error I left the white and red of the selector of the guitar, SD says to solder the two together and tape and leave aside, I tried hooking them up to the selector where the old PU was, it when I switch the selector to S-HB it sounded out of phase, I disconnected and left aside and the PUs seem to be working fine and sound pretty fat. Thanks for all your help.
