Got this out of a pawnshop Strat. It was in middle position with 2 Gibson USA humbucks in the neck and bridge positions. I am going to put it back in a single guard alone with only a volume switch maybe. What size pot you recc' ? and is this actually a stacked coil so i could split if i chose...thanks, first post please be gentle:scared: lol

edit: ok i get 13 ohms on blk and green leads, im guessin its a neck STK, so if i used it alone in the bridge or middle what r ur guess'es on how it would sound ?

It's a STK-S2 Hot Stack that seems to be missing it's cover. You can pick the covers up all over the place really cheap, $5-$7 should cover it. I'm guessing it's probably a bridge pickup going off the resistance reading you got, they are unique sounding pup's & not for everyone but I've got them in two of my Strats and I love them! Plenty of power but they clean up nice like a true S.C.!

thanks for that...i got the cover that was white originally, a prior owner painted the pickguard and the SD cover with black paint...... with a brush...really no bs..lol and then the pickguard is a classic, then they hacked out both top n bottom with dull butter knife to fit the humbucks in...i guess money does get tight thats why i found in a pawnshop online....under $125 total , the strat is korea 1992 natural relic, maple neck, love it, changed the guard but now looking to move pups around....

tonight i took out the humbucks and have only the stk in middle position, volume knob only...maybe throw in a tone pot but just tryin different things....any pot suggestions ? humbucks may end up in a PRS Se i got on the cheap also..

further experiment, moved it to the bridge and added a tone pot, sounds better, i may stick with it for awhile as is.....onto to moving the usa gibson hums to the PRS for kicks.....i suck at soldering so i need the practice
