Pod Bass rig

so i was wondering if instead of trading a guitar for a bass head or just getting one if i just got a power amp and another cabinet and just hooked it up to my bass pod xt the regular not the pro. for the most part im a simple pedal bass/guitar amp kinda guy but the pod gets good sounds and my bandmates love their floor units so i got one but really im fairly happy with a distortion and some other kinds of pedals for little bits of sounds here and there.Any thoughts on this kinda system

Re: Pod Bass rig

That's actually what I was thinking of doing recently when I almost landed a gig as a bass player in a working band. I was going to get a power amp, small mixer, and cab to run my bass pod and keyboards through.

Re: Pod Bass rig

It should work just fine.

I play guitar live with the POD X3Live regularly. I go DIRECT, and use a monitor. Works for me.

Re: Pod Bass rig

its funny i was thinking i know some famous people do it and in the new gutar world static x does it my bandmates like their stuff live so if its bad ill blame it on their ears.thanks i may go ahead and just do it sometime i have the mixer the pod xt-regular
not the pro and then maybe i can just send certain sounds to one side or so if i put in effects loop of mixer too right?that should work ok

Re: Pod Bass rig

Lincoln Brewster has been using PODs for years. When he played locally several years ago, he flew in with his bassist. They both brought a POD (2.0? This was before the floorboards were introduced) and a couple of pedals. He hired a local drummer who had toured with him before. PA was a local rental as well.
