POD XT...anyone notice strange overtones after upgrading firmware?

Mine just seems off...I only played it for a few minutes before completley upgrading everything through the monkey...but it seems to have some odd "sounds" now..just extra things...static that follows notes...a somewhat hollow effect to all sounds. A friend mentioned he didnt like his after the update and ended up returning it to original settings. Anyone else see this and what did you do about it? Thanks

If you're noticing static, you could be clipping it. Check the screen for the CLIP indicator while you're playing. The upgrade may have (intentionally or not) boosted the volume of some models, so you may have to compensate by turning it down a bit until the CLIP goes away.

I haven't really noticed the "hollow" effect you're talking about, but I did notice that some amps with open back cabs sounded "lighter" somehow after the update.

Out of curiosity, where is the output of your PODxt going? Stereo? Headphones? Amp?

Im running from the "line outs" into my computer soundcard...I dont like the sound of the USB connection...then from computer into stereo system.

Well, the sounds obviously become different, so you can't expect your old patches to sound the same. I've liked the upgraded sounds, they've just sounded more pleasing to my ears.
