Pole spacing in Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues

Hi everyone.

I have a strat copy with a a set of DiMarzio Virtual Vintages as follows:
Neck: VV 2.2
Middle: VV 2.2
Bridge: VV Heavy Blues

What bothers me is that the magnet rods aren't aligned with the strings, especially in the bridge pickup. This is not "slightly" unaligned, but extremely unaligned. The bridge is a "vintage tremolo".

It seems that the string spacing in my bridge is bigger than the pole spacing in the pickup by a large amount...

In the middle/neck positions I don't have this problem.

Is this normal in VV Heavy Blues or do you think the problem is in my bridge?

Thanks.

What kind of guitar is it?

The VV Solo I had in my MIJ 62 RI lined up perfectly, as did the 54 in the mid and the Blues at the neck.

Hi Benjy,

It's a strat copy made in Brazil (yes, there are guitar makers there!)

It seems that the spacing in the VV Heavy Blues is smaller than in the VV2.2.

I think the string spacing in the bridge is 2 1/8".

I'll try to post a pic today.

Thanks.

If you can't get it to line up and are losing sound, try the Dimarzio Chopper. It sounds like a hot strat pickup and has rails, so spacing won't be an issue.
