Pole spacing on Duncan SH2

I only have my GF's floppy garment tape to measure the hole spacing, but I want to put a cover on my SH2 and I measure 49mm with her tape. I'm not very confident in the tape measure and my ability to get the right measurement with it, so does anyone what the correct hole spacing is?

I found covers at 48mm, 49.0mm, 49.2mm and 50mm. I'm not sure how much wiggle room there would be so I'd like the best fit possible without having to resort to a big hammer approach and open the holes with a drill or dremel.

Anyway, I've recorded a passage without the cover and flat wound strings. After getting covers on I'll record the same passage with the pup / screw height the same, git volume / tone all the way up, EQ on my amp all on 5 and mic positions the same and let the recordings tell me what my ears may lie about :-)

Thanks,

Gary

Re: Pole spacing on Duncan SH2

Maybe I'm daft, but is there a way to tell if they are ibanez (what is called f spacing for another brand) and check that way?

I have a ton of measuring devices, I usually found that when checking that stuff it's pretty much standard or f (sorry, can't remember the SD way of putting this)

If you mean the covers I looked at? There's no way to tell who made them. The pups are SH2's though.

I have a few Gibson pups that measure (with my crude tape) 50mm on a 57 classic (used in either position) and 51mm spaced on a 490R a neck only pup.
