Possible to wire humbucking Lil '59 where single coil was, in Mex Strat HSS neck?

We don't understand this stuff at all, and my electrician was able to put in an Alnico in the mid-position, only since both pups are single coil and the wiring was identical.

For the neck, I have the Lil '59 from Duncan and I think the many-optioned wiring diagram it comes with is ridiculous. If it is possible to wire the pup where a single coil had been, great, but I have no understanding nor any interest in jargon such as "split" -- I simply want a single set of instructions and no options, on where to solder the wires to make the neck pup work. Can anybody answer, or advise me who to chat up? It thus would be neck hummer, single coil in mid, and hummer at bridge.

Fender has a new Strat this year that somehow is pre-wired to accomodate this sort of thing -- that makes me wonder if this is possible at all, and if it is, exactly what one is supposed to do. (If not, I got a Lil '59 to sell real cheap!)

There should be a basic two wire option (just tape off the ends of the two unused wires) which will wire directly into your old SC setup. Most likely the first diagram on the sheet...different pup companies color code differently, so I don't know the colors of the wires that you need for the setup. I guessing someone else on the forum knows that off the top of their head.

if it's 4 conductor, go with black to the switch, green & bare together to the ground, and red & white together & taped off. should work for you like that.

I'd like to call Duncan about this. Anybody know how I can get 'em on the blower? Their site seems designed to prevent me from phoning them.

Thanks!

So I checked their site carefully, and yes, they *really* want not to be found by us on the phone.

But here is their contact info FYI:

On one hand, I can understand the frustration, but on the other hand, no one puts up more wiring info than Seymour Duncan does. Here's the diagram you need:

1h_1s_1h_1v_2t_5w

Btw - in that diagram, the bridge looks like a single, but its still a humbucker. The wiring is the same for yours.

Edit: See if this helps: (Just like Jay said.) :)
