Post yours and tell me about your favorite and what kind of music you play !

Re: Post your amp collection

There's a thread on here somewhere that covers this ground. Loads of good reading in it. One to find tomorrow though, time I turned the light out...

Re: Post your amp collection

Nah! I think it predates your arrival by a good bit, unless of course...

...you used to be someone else... :33:

Re: Post your amp collection

Redundant thread is redundant? Ah who cares

No pics ATM

Marshall JCM800 100w head
Fender RocPro 1000 100w head
Carvin VE212 2x12 cab
Mesa/Boogie 4x12 halfback
Roland MicroCube
Fender Rumble 25 Bass amp

The Fender was my main gigging amp for the couple of years I had a band, along with the Carvin cab. Before that was a Peavey Transtube 1x12 combo that pooped the sheets on stage and was unceremoniously dumped (for the Fender/Carvin setup).

Haven't had a chance to work with the Marshall much - just enough to know it's LOUD. Got a few pedals (SD-1, GE-7, MetalZone, RAT) and Line6 M13, but haven't been able to really get down with them all.

The Cube is decent enough for portable noise.

Rumble is ok for bedroom jamming.

Gotta brush up on my covers and give the Marshall a proper test-drive & figure out which pedal setup I want to use with it.

Re: Post your amp collection

Killer!! you running pedals into that TSL ?

And Don't worry I get ripped on at the gear page for always talking about my Mesa 5:50 lol

Lol, awesome. I want to give this mesa a shot, you speak very highly of it. Yeah I have a modded boss cs-3, boss ns2, modded boss ge-7, mxr evh phase 90, rat deucetone, big muff, digitech hardwire reverb, ehx memory man with hazarai.

I also recently traded a fender frontman 212r for this crate bt350 bass rig. I cant really find anyone else on the net with this head, but it sounds pretty good

Gotta love the big muff!

yeah the 5:50 is a great combo. I attached mine to a 2x12 V30 cab and cancelled out the internal speaker.. sounds much bigger and better now!

Re: Post your amp collection

what happened to your traynor head?

Traded my '66 YBA-1 and greenback cab for a Vox TB35C2 2x12 combo... did not care for it with my pedals so I traded that for a late 70s Ampeg VT-22 and could not be happier.. I have wanted a VT-22 for years and it was basically my dream amp and I finally got one! Same amps Queens of the Stone Age uses

Thorcraft Mustang
1x10 EL-84 Class A amp

Amp doesn't like pedals, and only likes single coil guitars. It's beautiful with SCs though. Can easily get power tube distortion at reasonable(ish) levels.

Traynor YCV40WR with extension cab
6l6 Amp
Loves pedals, sounds great with any guitar I've got.

Traynor YGM-1
1x12 EL-84 Amp
Currently a soldering project . . . replaced 2 prong cord with 3 prong, and I've been going through each resistor/capacitor and replacing the ones that are way off spec.

The current stash.

Re: Post your amp collection

Killer setup! That JCM into the Mesa 4x12 must sound good!

Dunno, haven't tried it yet

A previous owner replaced the original Mesa speakers and hardware with Peaveys. There's even the jack panel. The cab's in the closet right now, and I can't recall what model of PV it was - 1290MS I think? Looked it up whenI first got it sometime last year or before, but didn't really find anything definitive.

Then there's the issue of not knowing exactly how those speakers might be wired together, and don't want just plug in and possibly fry the head because the impedance is mismatched.

I did pick up some original Black Shadows a while back, though. Wouldn't mind restoring the cab to original spec. Just gotta find the EVs to go with it.
Too, I had considered replacing the Carvin speakers with the Black Shadows, or maybe one Carvin + one Black Shadow, or maybe see how the Peaveys sound before I take them out, and maybe see how they match the Carvins, or maybe a Carvin and a Peavey in the 2x12, or a Peavey and a Mesa, or maybe the carvins and mesas in the halfback, or maybe the carvins and one mesa and one peavey, or one carvin, 2 mesas, one peavey, or.......

And that's why the Mesa is still in the closet, the Black Shadows are still in the box them came in, and I'm sitting right here doing this

very nice! Nothing can replace the feeling of finally acquiring your dream amp or guitar. That also awesome that you did the trades so quick, and didn't sit too long

LOL ! oh the possibilities!

I have never tried the vintage black shadows only the new 90 watt celestion one in my 5:50 express. I don't like the new ones. Too beamy/piercing when cranked.. I'm in the process of finding a V30 to throw in there

Yeah I figure if I'm not digging something then why keep it around? I usually trade up and up too I went from a 800 dollar amp once and after 2 trades had a 2 grand amp lol

I traded down for the Ampeg technically as my amp was worth a few hundred more but I could not pass up on owning the amp I had been lusting after for so long..Only issue is that it is 88 pounds! lol
