Pot mismatches/problems...I think (Strat)

hello-
I'm happy with my Rio Grande BBQ in the bridge of my Strat, no tone pot connected. And a 500k volume pot. I love that . But,
My 2 singles are still connected to 250k tone pots.
I don't know if this is parallel or series but its a stock MIM "Vintage Player's Strat" from 2003 wiring.

My question is, is the 500k volume and no-tone bridge affecting my position 2 ? My position 2 sounds horribly dull and muffled.
Although my pos. 4 sounds just as bad. The common element - the 500k volume pot.
Could a Strat actually =need= 500k's all around, even with the single coils, depending on the guitar?
**I must tell you that my live amp is always set for optimum tone with the humbucker only. This I will not change. So this may be affecting my situation.
I can get the wondrous position 2 and 4 sounds at home through my clean channel of course.
Thanks

Before making any big changes, I'd write down those settings and try twisting those knobs around - especially if your home amp lets you get those wonderful tones.

You could also try disconnecting the single coils from their tone pots and see what that does.

Thanks..I've been thinking alot about just disconnecting them. I mean it won't kill me :biglaugh:
