Pot Value for Single/Humbucker Combination?

When you have a humbucker and single coil sharing a common pot, what value do you use? This is on a Tele FWIW.
Thanks,

do you have a humbucker in the neck with a tele lead in the bridge or is it the other way round?

It really depends on how bright your pickups and guitar are and what tone you want. I like my H/S/S frankenstrat with a 250k pot for volume and 500k for tone, but others prefer using 300k or 500k for the volume too (which is "standard" for humbuckers).

Part of the answer also depends on whether or not you have a "treble bleed" on the volume pot. That retains the high end as you roll down the volume and makes a lower value volume pot more workable. (Please do a search here and in the "Vault" for "treble bleed" 'coz there are too many options and opinions...)

Sorry there's no definite answer,

This is newer cheap Squire that I use as a beater spare. It has a humbucker (SD Custom) in the bridge and a Dimarzio HS-3 in the neck. The Dimarzio is about to be replaced w/ a SD Alnico II Pro. Electronics are typical Tele. One volume, one tone and a 3 way switch.

There's no rules. Usually I'll use 500K as most humbuckers sound to dark to me with 250K...although 500K makes the single coil a little bright. But you should experiment and see what you like. If you had a JB for the bridge pickup, I'd say 250K as that pickup does sound good with 250K pots. Lew
