I'm trying to warm up the sound of my Warmoth Soloist and I thought I might change out the potentiometer. Right now I've got two 500k in there. I thought I'd switch the volume one to a lower value, sort of like how LPs have two 300k and two 500k. My questions are:
1) Is it a good idea in the first place? There's plenty of bass as it is, but too much high end for my liking.
2) I can get a 250k more easily than a 300k. Will there be a noticeable difference? Which would you recomend?
Also, I'm currently grounding to the bridge studs but I'm getting a lot of noise. I thought I might try sending some of the grounds (there are a ton of 'em) to the back of the pots instead. Thumbs up or thumbs down on that?
