i have a telecaster with a 500k push pull vol pot and a 250 k tone pot. would this work with a single coil in the bridge and a humbucker in the neck? (im thinkin broadcaster or something vintage in the bridge, and some low output bucker in the neck, with the split option ) thanks

Re: pots and pickups

It could go either way, with something like this, depending on the pups used.
You might try doing this temporarily. Wire up a resistor across the push/pull, and connected to a 500k volume pot, like this:

While the volume control is at "10", pulling the knob will simulate a 250k pot.
You can listen both ways, and see which way works best.

Then, remove the resistor, and wire up the push/pull switch however you were going to originally use it. ;)

If your after a true vintage sound via your volumne/tone circuits check out www.kinman.com. Chris has complete harnesses that are so simple to install it is silly. He offers some really good advice backed by many years of exprience with Fender single coils, basically a Strat should use 250K pots.
