Power adaptor for pedals

I got a Danelectro Reel Echo unit for Chirstmas last night. This thing is quite amazing and fun to play around with. It takes a 9V battery and like most pedals, uses them liberally!!! It didn't come with a Dano power adaptor and the maunal says to use the Dano power adaptor. I figured they were just trying to get you to buy thier adaptor. Just curious if it would be all right to go out and buy a 9V adaptor at Wal Mart and use it.

You might want to check out the visual sound unit, called the one spot. I use it for my pedals, and they will let you know if they make a plug to fit your pedal to the adaptor. There usually isn't anything wrong with using another type of power adaptor as long as it is converting the right amount of power to your pedal, and it connects to your pedal properly.

Hope that helps...
