Hi,
I'm looking for a power supply for a pedal board and just wanted some advice on the matter.
My pedals are listed on my profile so thats what im working with at the moment (ignore the Grunge and Blues as i dont use those live).
Any help is appreciated thanks in advance.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

i use a pedal power II by voodoo lab and love it. clean quiet and reliable.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

For 8 or fewer pedals I'd use a 1Spot, for more than that I'd use the Pedal Power II.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

I use a Visual Sound 1Spot power supply. I only run a few pedals, plus it saves space on the board.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

I started out with a 1spot, but after only a few years it started bleeding noise into my pedals. Shortly after that discovery it quit altogether.

I then moved onto a Dunlop Brick and have been very pleased with its performance and reliability.

I'm planning on upgrading to a Voodoo Pedal Power II soon. I'm gonna need those isolated outputs the Brick is lacking...

Long story short: Get a PP II.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

I've been able to get away with a 1-spot and daisy chain for my pedals. It works great and is cheap.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

if you have the cash and are really picky about things then get something with isolated 9V supplies, ie Voodoo labs or T-rex. If it doesnt really matter to you then get something like a 1-spot.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

Thanks for the feedback people. At the moment i just use a Boss power supply and a daisy chain lol! it works fine no noise etc, but im in the process of getting an actual board for my pedals as i seem to be buying more and more pedals and them being in a circle on the floor is becoming a pain.
I was thinking something with isolated supplies. I'll look into the voodoo labs PPII.

I was in the same boat as you about a year and a half ago. The boys on the board told me to get a PPII+ by Voodoo Labs, and the idea of spending that amount of coin on a power supply made me nervous. I bit the bullet and went for it.

It's amazing. I get my distortion from my amp, so when I use effects, it's mostly fuzz, wah, and modulation effects. The sound reduction was instant. My phaser sounded rich, but smooth. My fuzz was brutal, but controlled. It was awesome.

Spend the cash, you won't regret it.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

The VL PPII+ is costly but it is the last power supply you'll ever have to buy.

A good power supply and good cables are the BEST thing you can buy for a solid pedal board.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

I've daisy chained about 10 boxes off of a 1-Spot for about three years with no problems whatsoever. However, I only have one or two pedals on at any given time so I'm not worried about current draw.

+1 I've been using the one spots for about 6 or 7 years now. My home board has two(it's a little more complicated) and I have 2 others that I gig with. They work great and are cheap enough to keep a spare in my gig bag.

Re: Power supply for pedal board advice

Cool sounds like the PPII is a winner here. Atm I only use a noise gate, tuner, wah, Digitech synth wah and an OD live atm, but im constantly eye-ing up more and more effects lol! so ill need something solid for once the bugger is built (or most likely, bought lol) Thanks for the advice everyone.

Yeah, that one is good. I just picked one up to rack my few pedals and power the Amp Gizmo. Works flawlessly.

The few pedals I had on the floor were powered with a OneSpot type thing (Dunlop maybe?). It worked well enough, but I had to mess around with order and other things to keep the noise down.
