just received my Edwards LP-type guitar (above) with default Duncan SP-90s, gotta say the tone really SINGS!! really glad to have treaded the P-90 path instead of purchasing another humbucking guitar...

if you are in for clarity, fat single coil tones that are superb at break-up drive settings, you have to give the SP-90 an audition. this one does high gain exceptionally but the hum might be unbearable for some.

anyone else has the SP-90 in their guitars?

Re: Praise: Duncan SP-90 (Edwards content...)

I am really getting the bug to have a P-90 guitar, and I have heard nothing but great things about the Duncan P90's...especially the hot in the bridge and the vintage in the neck.

What combo do you have in yours?

I own an Edwards Goldtop too, better change those strap buttons, they're small, that's the only flaw I found!

nice guitar, i wish i could buy one too

welcome to the forum, Branimir! you seem to have sold your last shirt and shoes to buy yourself an Edwards, don't you? :)

Re: Praise: Duncan SP-90 (Edwards content...)

Thanks!

I still have the shoes and the t-shirt, but I'm still in debts because of Edwards hehe...

Need to find some nice LP case, I lug it around in some old hard case that's about to fall apart any time soon!

There are some recording of this guitar in my signature's link to myspace. I tune to dropped C and use 11-54 Earnie Ball somethingslinky strings (beefyslinky?)

bump

Any more thoughts on either the Edwards goldtop or the Duncan SP90 series pickups?

Duncan P-90's are fantastic pups, the Ants are as close to the real deals as anything I have heard. I used the Custom as my main pup for about a decade.

After a while the noise can wear you down but they sound awesome.

Re: Praise: Duncan SP-90 (Edwards content...)

Are they worse than a typical Strat or Tele single coil, noise-wise?

Ever tried the SP90-1 pickup?
