Preamp tube flash

I have an old Carvin X100B and a Marshall DSL50 amps and I have noticed when turning on the amps one preamp tube flashes in each amp. The preamp tubes have been replaced and have low hours on them. Both amps work fine and sound great.
Can anyone explain the flashing?
Thanks

Re: Preamp tube flash

I havent noticed with mine. I'll check it with the cover off. Ive seen some of them flash a light purple color really quick.

Re: Preamp tube flash

One of the three stock Ruby 12AX7's (Shuguang's) in the Chinese 15 watt head I just got a while ago flashed on start-up from the day I got it. They were identical tubes and V3 was the only one that flashed so it obviously was'nt "normal" for the Ruby's to do that. Anyway...I replaced it with another Shuguang 12AX7 and my gain almost doubled. I'm pretty sure the stock one was damaged in shipping (from China) since it shipped with the tubes in their sockets.

Re: Preamp tube flash

Do you put them on standby first?
Is it the same tube in both amps, or do both amps flash with different tubes?
What color is the flash?
Im guessing its a tube about to go awol.
