"Precious I Know"

I think I'm getting closer to the music I hear in my head. I always wanted club type music with rock to be what this project is about. I used a Dean Markley, Amplitube, Battery drums, Predator and Zebra synths again. Still working on the mix a bit - feedback welcome.

Re: "Precious I Know"

Yet another great tune with a solid sound and great vocals. I'm really liking the stuff you are putting together. How soon until you have an album done, or are you even working in that direction?

Re: "Precious I Know"

Thanks man I appreciate that. :)

I'm not working on an album I'm just writing songs and releasing singles on iTunes when I feel good about the tune. I want to go back and rework some of the better tunes I have recorded lately and replace the guitars with a better tone/setup and also a few drum tracks with better drums. I keep saying I'm not going to write anymore right now but I can't seem to stop! :) Oh well, keeps me out of trouble.

Re: "Precious I Know"

Well, you are certainly doing something right. If you have the gift of writing and songs keep coming out of your head, you have to keep writing them down.

As much as I love guitar driven rock and metal, I really dig the cool vibe you have going on your tunes....just good stuff to listen to. Not that the guitars aren't good, they just aren't the focus of the songs...in a good way. They just add to the overall effect.

Keep it up and I'll keep downloading singles.

Re: "Precious I Know"

Thanks again Jeff. A lot of the sound is just using the stuff I own which after selling most of everything isn't much. I'm pretty much a song writer and singer who plays anyhow and my skills on guitar are limited. It's all cool, I have the most fun just being creative and with the process.

Re: "Precious I Know"

pretty cool dude! nice mix on this one, I like the breakdowns and variations in the techno drums, the singing is really solid.

Re: "Precious I Know"

I like it. I have been considering a similar type project at some point. I get a bit of a Depeche Mode vibe with a more modern voicing, and I mean that as a compliment. IMO if the vocals had some compression to them and had a less dominant role then you would have a releasable track. That is my preference though (could come from years listening to punk lol)

Re: "Precious I Know"

I would, but my wife recently got laid off so we've had to move in with her parents for the time being. Also we found out we are gonna be parents, so the area where I might have been able to cram my gear into will now be a nursery. Maybe I'll take my Firepod outta storage and mess around with Reason again. I've dabbled with electronic music before, but with less then stellar results. Do you have an info you could pass on to help ease a punk kid into the digital music realm.

Man! Congratulations on the baby and I'm sorry you're suffering too in this economy, so many hurting.

Reason is a cool program I've used it a lot. As far as electronica goes I know a lot. My best advice I guess is that it tends to be about the quality of the sounds not quantity e.g. mangled synths that just sound frikin cool. When I was learning I use to take a track and try and duplicate it part for part and capture the sounds as close as possible. If you're serious about trying to learn it I can suggest the Global Underground forum, lot's of producers there and the Propellerheads forum https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/
