price idea

BloodRose

Professional Scapegoat
Im selling guitars. (Sad sad sad...) I have one that I have no idea how to price it. I have a 1989 RG 570. its an odd color. Almost flip flop. One light it looks like a rose pink color, other light looks purple. This guitar is nearly mint. The only blemish is there is some finish worn off of the neck plate. No idea why as its never played. There is microscopic fretwear. The guitar has dunlop straplocks, D tuna, Duncan 59b neck, dimarzio vv blues middle and C5 bridge. Has an orig HSC that when you open, the guitar and the case smell brand new. What would one ask for something like this? They arent really collectable, but the color is rare and would be a great 80s flashback. Thanks

Re: price idea

Try searching on ebay for that guitar under "completed items". That can at least give you a starting point.

Re: price idea

Late 80's flip-flop purple to pink is very likely the DX. I had the 550DX counter-part.

Nice instrument. Necks were the usual thin finish and very prone to wear. But overall very nice.

As far as money goes, probably not much more than a regular RG570. The finish is rare, and it being in as good a shape as you say it is doesn't happen often, but no one's lining up to buy them. There's no real market for them over other RG550's.

It is definately a RG570. marked on the back of the headstock. Wizard neck, edge bridge.

Yeah, I figure you are right tho. Playability and features are same as new ones, so no one will prob pay more for it. I know the old 770s are going for a mint..
I love it and dont wanna sell it, but I HAVE to move some gear and she isnt one of my top 3.

LesStrat,
Very kind offer, but Ill pass. :laugh2:

Re: price idea

hmmm, i would pay about $300 for this. but if there are duncans and dimarzios inside, plus since its in a fairly decent condition. i'd say $400 would be ok.

i guess its better to set a slightly higher price and then slowly lower it if no ones getting it after awhile

Re: price idea

IM KEN,
pups are duncans and dimarzio single. guitar is mint except alittle paint rub off on the neck plate.
Thanks for your input
