I got a new set of SPB-1s and installed them in a P/J bass without hooking up the Jazz pup (and left the middle switch and knob to fill the middle hole). I used new Bourns pots. The SPB-1s sound great. The problem is the tone pot doesn't change the tone at all. I used the Seymour Duncan diagram that came with the SPB-1s exactly. I tried swapping an extra volume pot for the tone pot, to be sure the Bourn linear pot wasn't defective (the extra volume is the one in tone position in the pic). It didn't make any difference. What am I'm doing wrong? Any advice hugely appreciated.
