Problem with Carvin Legacy

I'll get back to you about this. Something doesn't sound quite right. If the reverb is set all the way off I don't think anything should make the effect go through the speakers. What exactly are you slapping?

anywhere on the amp head housing. Not even hard. jump bump it.

Re: Problem with Carvin Legacy

Alright I tested it out and unfortunately, there must be something wrong with your amp. As I had figured earlier, there shouldn't be any sort of reverb coming through with it turned down.

That leaves you with one of two alternatives. A) Just don't bump into your amp (if everything else is acting normal) or B) Get the amp checked out, the potentiometer must not be functioning correctly if the reverb is coming through with it turned off. My guess is something isn't connected as securely as it should be and when you bump into your amp, it's hitting something which is bypassing the pot.

Nono when the reverb pot is turned all the way down it doesn't do it. When I say off I mean when it's switched off via footswitch.

Re: Problem with Carvin Legacy

Sorry to dredge up this ancient thread, but I am for 2 reasons...
1) What ever happened??

Was your problem with a combo???

2) I wanted to share a possible suggestion for anyone having this problem. So maybe this can help someone..

I have this problem with my PV classic 30. If I use the Boost button and have the reverb on, it starts to hum.. What this is, is that the vibes from the extra drive of the boost, make the springs in the verb unit vibe, causing noise. For best elimination, remove the reverb tank from the cabinet. Set it outside the cab if you have enough cable.
I found that the tank is mounted with rubber bushings to dampen the vibes, the bushings were out of place and so it was hard mounted with screws and no damping. Fixing this helped
The tank also has a layer of tolex over it to isolate it, but that didnt help.. They sell Isolatation bags that you can put the tank in to eliminate this. I ghetto fixed mine with a layer of foam rubber. Not perfect, but better.. If I would gig with the amp, Id prob set the tank outside the cab
