problem with my antiquity neck pickup

I reinstalled the antiquity into my new telecaster the other night and it sounds like it is only half power. I adjusted the height, nothing changed at all. I checked all my joints and nothing is wrong, I even redid most of the joints, nothing there changed either. What could be making this pickuo have such a low output when it didn't before.

the only thing I can think of that I will check this afternoon is if the switch is making contact with the body of the guitar, the route is smaller than I was using before but not by much really. If it were the bridge pickup should have the same effect in the middle position shouldn't it?

Yes, try putting a meter on it if you haven't already. And if you don't have a meter, disconnect the pickup and hold the wires against the plug of a guitar lead that's plugged into your amp. You should be able to get a full strength signal if the pickup is ok.

I don't think it has become demagnetized I was using it a month ago in another guitar, but I will stick a meter on it later today and let you know.

well i put the meter on it and I get a complete circuit but when i try to measure the ohms i get nothing. I just ordered a new neck pickup from Lew. thanks guys

from the FAQ:

If the pick ups DC resistance is very low or zero ohms this indicates a short in the coils and ... the pick up needs to be replaced or repaired depending on age and origin.

I'm always concerned about those little strands from the coil that connect to the leads.
it might be worth having repaired though ... those Antiquity neck pickups are great.

yeah I was replacing the antiquity bridge with a voodoo TE60 and now the neck will be replaced with the antiquity II neck and I will have the neck pickup rewound by mj very soon so I can keep the set.

Strange thing is, Lew and I talked about this too, the little strands were not broken, so I can't figure this one out. oh well.
